Great Moon Gathering Conference, Cochrane, Ontario - February 17, 2011
Presented to seven James Bay coast teachers of primarily Aboriginal students covering the definition of Web 2.0, the use of social networking for professional development, Google as a collaboration tool, visual representation tools (Prezi), and digital storytelling. It was not possible to deliver the full planned presentation (2 1/2 hours) since the keynote speaker ran overtime and the participants arrive a minimum of 1/2 hour late. Participants were sent a wiki invitation so they can peruse the site at their leisure after the session.
DSB ONE PD Day - April 11, 2011
A one hour Smart board Digital Storytelling presentation to define the concept, show examples, demonstrate how it's a meaningful student assignment to meet the expectations in a variety of Intermediate to Senior classes/courses in Ontario, and share the resources I have collected at other professional development sessions.
A one hour computer lab Glogster hands-on workshop to get teachers signed up to this online application, to show the tools, to share related resources, and to allow teachers to try it.
